Install a filter at the inlet of the chiller

For smaller equipment, you can use the following cup type filter.

For larger units, a Y-filter is advocated.

For water-cooled chillers, it is important to install a filter at the inlet of the condenser, because in most cases, the water in the cooling tower contains foreign matter. You can choose the appropriate filtration system according to your own situation at any time.

It is important to know where in the cooling system the pump should be placed. This is a quick tip, the pump always draws water from the source. The so-called source refers to the equipment that holds the most water in the circuit, such as the external water tank, the water basin of the cooling tower, etc.

If you are not using a self-priming pump, make sure the pump is positioned below the water level in the container, or the pump may run dry.

Place valves on each side of every piece of equipment including chillers, pumps, tanks that you need to protect from time to time. When it becomes necessary to check equipment, you definitely don't want to spill water in the circuit and damage it anywhere.

A water pressure gauge is a good option, and you can monitor the pressure to see if your water lines are clogged or leaking.

Anti-vibration. For larger cooling projects, the use of flexible joints on each side of equipment with electric motors is strongly advocated. Sensitive joints can save your water pipes from many troubles, including leaks, noises, and more.

Water piping should be built on solid supports and not dependent on chillers or pumps.
