Do you know how to choose between air-cooled chillers and water-cooled chillers?

Chillers are generally divided into water-cooled chillers and air-cooled chillers. Air-cooled chillers are often used in areas with tight water resources; the following is a comprehensive analysis and comparison of the characteristics of air-cooled chillers and water-cooled chillers. I hope it will be helpful to you.

In terms of economic benefits! The number of air-cooled condensers in large refrigeration chillers is too large, which is difficult to arrange. On the other hand, too small water-cooled refrigeration chillers can also be used.

The quality of cooling circulating water is the key, and the treatment of cooling circulating water is divided into physical and chemical methods. The cooling system of water-cooled chillers must be installed with electronic water treatment instruments or strong magnetic water treatment instruments, otherwise the heat dissipation efficiency will be too much attenuated. The longer the use time, the worse the system effect, the high annual water treatment cost, and the effect cannot achieve 100% descaling.

1. Water-cooled/air-cooled chillers can be used in small systems, and most large chillers are water-cooled. The initial investment of water cooling is a little less than that of air cooling in terms of the main unit. But with the addition of cooling towers and electronic water treatment instruments in the machine room, it is not much less! Moreover, in terms of long-term operation, the cooling efficiency of water-cooled chillers will decrease relatively, while the decrease of air cooling is very small.

2. Water-cooled chillers need to treat the water quality, otherwise the heat exchange efficiency will be greatly reduced, resulting in energy waste and serious damage to the refrigeration equipment. For open cooling circulating water systems, after the cooling water absorbs heat and contacts with the air, CO2 escapes into the air, and the dissolved oxygen and turbidity in the water increase, causing four major problems in the cooling circulating water system: sludge, corrosion, scaling, and bacterial and algae growth. Therefore, it is very important to treat the water system with corrosion inhibition, scale inhibition, sterilization and algae removal.
